Sage 50 Accounting II (formerly Simply Accounting) is ideal for students who want to understand the advanced capabilities of the software.

The Level 2 course is designed to study the remaining lessons in Sage 50 Accounting after the Sage 50 Accounting I course. Highlights include an overview of the setup and use of the payroll and inventory functions, followed by a detailed look at how to use projects, time slips, time and billing, budgets, multicurrency and departmental accounting. This is followed by a look at advanced reporting, database management, year end, customizing forms, and concludes with information regarding users and security. 

Course Structure

The course extends over a one week period and includes 15 hours of instructional time, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Classes are held in our fully-equipped computer lab on our campus in Coal Harbour.

The designation examination is an additional two hours.

  9. Utilize Year End Functions and Adjusting Entries
  10. Customize Forms Using Sage 50 Forms Designer
  11. Perform Database Maintenance
  12. Create Users and Security

Prerequisites

A basic understanding of Windows is required, as is completion of the Sage 50 Accounting Level 1 Course, or experience using Sage 50 Accounting/Sage Simply Accounting.

Evaluation

The designation assessment is an online open-book examination. Students may use their training manual, class notes and product documentation during the assessment.

Certification

Upon completion of this course with a score of 75% or higher, students will receive a Sage 50 Accounting Application Specialist designation.
