Diploma in International Trade

Overview

Globalization and information technology are opening potential new markets for international businesses of all sizes. For businesses, understanding the realities of international trade can be a critical competitive edge, giving significant advantage over competitors. To take advantage of these opportunities, special skills and knowledge are required. The qualifications in International Trade provide skills, knowledge and preparation to overcome cultural barriers, build lasting alliances, and effective costing of market products and services internationally. The qualifications also have a Sales and Marketing component which provides students with a variety of skills and competencies in these two essential areas of business. Faculty stresses the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment by including group assignments and class discussions. Selected courses provide students with knowledge of sales and marketing functions, and practical skills that are applicable to any sales and marketing setting.
Each course in the program addresses essential topics within the context of global trade, ranging from macro issues such as the global economy to pragmatic topics such as logistic procedures on how to move goods around the world.
This Program is delivered in alliance with the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) and the Canadian Professional Sales Association (CPSA)
