Diploma in AccountingOverviewThe Diploma in Accounting is designed to meet the needs of students planning for a career in accounting. During the program students will advance through basic accounting concepts and procedures to more advanced topics such as financial accounting, management accounting, corporate finance fundamentals, business communication, and the analysis of a business case. Students enroll for Individual courses. Students completing all 12 courses will receive the Ashton College Diploma in Accounting. They are also eligible to receive the Certified General Accountants (CGA) Foundation Studies in Accounting Certificate from CGA. Courses generally take place on weekdays between 8.30a.m. and 12.30p.m. All courses are transferable to the Certified General Accountants (CGA) Program of Professional Studies in British Columbia. Courses in Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Economics and Quantitative Methods are recognized by the Certified Management Association of BC as being equivalent to their four prerequisite courses for the CMA Accelerated Program.
