Certificate in Home Inspection

Overview

The Certificate in Home Inspection is designed to prepare students for a career as a Home Inspector. Home inspection involves the assessment of the condition of residential and light commercial buildings. Home inspectors will identify conditions, and prepare reports on the physical conditions of the structure, roof, exterior, plumbing, heating, cooling, insulation and interiors. Home inspectors inspect various systems to determine the system deficiencies. The program has been designed to address these aspects, as well as help students acquire the knowledge and professional communication skills they need to succeed in this growing industry. Throughout the program students will focus on obtaining a very practical knowledge of the performance of the systems and components of a house. The program provides students with practical scenarios and cases concerning what to look for during an inspection.
