Elder Planning Counselor (EPC)

Overview

This is a three day Exam Preparation seminar (exam on day four) offered in partnership with the Canadian Initiative for Elder Planning Studies (CIEPS). It is the first all-Canadian elder educational designation program in Canada which was designed by Canadians for Canadian professionals. The comprehensive modules which make up the program are relevant and specific to professional practice.

Canada’s population is aging. According to the Government of Canada, approximately 15% of the national population is now 65 years of age or older. Canada’s elders represent a specialized market with particular needs and concerns. The Elder Planning Counselor (EPC) program is intended to enrich the knowledge and understanding of professionals on topics focusing on the evolving and specialized needs of Canada’s citizens as they age.

This program will enable you to assist the elderly in their planning and care in terms that they will accept and appreciate. The program was developed by industry specific experts.

Format

The EPC program is offered in a seminar format over three days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) from 8:45am to 4:50pm on Friday, 9:00am to 4:50pm on Saturday, and 9:00am to 4:00pm on Sunday. The examination is held on the following Monday from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

Total instructional time = 23 hours including final exam

Meals and refreshments are included on the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
