PracticumsPracticums provide students with an opportunity to apply classroom learning in the workplace. In the case of international students, the additional benefit of developing English language skills in an actual business setting. Practicums can be paid or unpaid depending on the placement. Ashton College continues to develop industry linkages to place its students for gaining first-hand experience. Students are encouraged to maintain close contact with the career services coordinator and express their interest in the type of business in which they would like to be placed. The coordinator identifies areas of strength of students and attempts to match them with the businesses on Ashton's roster. The coordinator also provides assistance in customizing students' resumes, letters of introduction and guidance for interview tips.
