Payroll1. Pay Periods-Full Time Faculty
Payroll on the 10th of the month will be for the 26th of the previous month to the 10th of the current month.
Payroll on the 25th will be for the 11th until the 25th. 2. Pay Periods-Part Time Faculty
Payroll on the 10th of the month will be for the 16th - end of previous month.
Payroll on the 25th day of the month will be for the 1st - 15th of current month. 3. Pay Periods-Full Time Support StaffSupport Staff are paid on the 15th and last day of every month. If either of these days is a Saturday, Sunday or Statutory Holiday, then payment is made the day prior to that day. 4. Pay Periods-Hourly Support Staff
Payroll on the 15th of the month will be for the 16th- end of previous month.
Payroll on the last day of the month will be for the 1st - 15th of current month. 5. OvertimeAll overtime must be approved in advance by your immediate supervisor. Be sure to record reasons for overtime on your time sheet. Overtime is paid at the rate of one-and-a-half times your regular pay rate for the time over 8 hours and double your regular pay rate for any time over 11 hours. (Note: does not apply to hourly employees unless the employee has worked for more than 8 hours on that day or more than 40 hours in that week). 6. Working on Statutory HolidaysWorking on regular paid statutory holidays is strongly discouraged. If however it is absolutely necessary and providing that it has been approved in advance by your immediate supervisor, you will be paid one-and-a-half times your regular pay rate for the time worked up to 11 hours and double your regular pay rate for any time worked over 11 hours. Paid holidays are as follows:
Employees only qualify for paid holidays after 30 calendar days of employment. 7. Annual Vacation and Vacation PayA full-time salaried employee is entitled to ten (10) working days of paid vacation leave per year. After a period of three (3) years of continuous employment, a full-time salaried employee is entitled to fifteen (15) working days of paid vacation leave per year. Faculty are required to take their vacation leave entitlement when their services are not required. This will include the December break and other days throughout the year. Any remaining vacation leave entitlement may be taken during the year provided that a minimum of four (4) weeks notice has been given. Faculty are responsible for briefing the substitute instructor on work to be covered during any period of vacation leave. Subject to the requirements relating to faculty vacation leave, a full time salaried employee may, with the approval of his/her supervisor, accumulate and carry over vacation leave to a maximum of twenty (20) working days. A full time salaried employee may carry over a maximum of fifty per cent of the vacation leave entitlement each year to the maximum prescribed above. Requests to carry over vacation leave shall not be unreasonably denied. For hourly paid employees, a working day is defined as eight (8) hours of employment. | ||||||||||||
