Student AidBC

Ashton College has been designated by Student AidBC to provide students with the opportunity to receive loans and grants. With one form, students who reside in BC may apply for the Canada Student Loan, BC Student Loan, and all of the below grants. If you are from outside of the province, please consult your provincial website.

How to apply

Step 1

Calculate how much money you need to both pay for your tuition (contact an Ashton College student adviser) and support yourself while you attend school.

Step 2

Seek other resources to supplement your school and living costs.

- family
- part-time employment
- bursaries and scholarships
- co-op programs or jobs through your school
- banks: student line of credit

Step 1 - Step 2 = Funding needed

Step 3

Complete your Student AidBC application and submit it to Student AidBC for processing.

Part-time Students

Part-Time Loan Program

A part-time student whose income falls below a predetermined threshold (See: Student Aid BC) is eligible to apply to the Part-Time Canada Student Loan Program.

Need assessment is not calculated on the same basis as for full-time students. The loan is for tuition, books, supplies, transportation and childcare.
