Robert Pickton Found Guilty
Ashton College, Vancouver, World, Canada December 10th, 2007After 10 months of testimony and 10 days of deliberations, the jury in the Robert Pickton case reached a verdict. Pickton was convicted on Sunday for the murder of six women who went missing on the Downtown Eastside (DTES). The six victims he was convicted in the murder of are Mona Wilson, Sereena Abotsway, Marnie Frey, Brenda Wolfe, Andrea Joesbury and Georgina Papin
The jury convicted Pickton of second-degree murder, saying that he did not plan the murders but the verdict carries a life sentence. Pickton is eligible for parole in 10 years. The judge will decide today when Pickton will be elibible for parole. The victims were dismembered and disposed of by using pigs and farm equipment in Port Coquitlam.

He is also charged in the deaths of 20 more women who went missing from the DTES. It is believed that Pickton, a pig farmer and now a convicted serial killer, has murdered 49 women in total. Thus, Pickton is accused of being the deadliest serial killer in Canada’s history.
