CANADA REVENUE AGENCY HAS MILLIONS OF DOLLARS UNCLAIMED IN TAX MONEY
Blogroll, Vancouver, World, Canada June 9th, 2008Instead of paying in tax money this year, wouldn’t it be wonderful to find out that you were one of thousands of people whom Revenue Canada owed money to?
Agents at the Canada Revenue Agency are trying to distribute millions of dollars belonging to Canadian taxpayers. Over the past 12 years, more than $25.4 million in undeliverable tax returns have piled up in a government bank account.
Almost 40,000 cheques, averaging $657 each, have yet to find their way back to their rightful owners. Some people have moved away and not bothered to change their address, or perhaps cheques are lying forgotten in a kitchen drawer. CRA say cheques are not staledated and can be replaced as long as the rightful owner proves his or her identity.
